The state of Michigan announces expedited service and lower fees for services

The Corporation Division of the Department of Labor & Economic Growth now offers a significantly reduced fee schedule for profit corporations, and has also established new expedited services for filing corporation paperwork.

Reductions to the fee schedule initially targeted start-up high-tech companies but were expanded to include all for-profit businesses. They include a fee of $500 for starting a corporation with 10,000,000 shares, instead of $5,000 previously paid.

In addition, the law provides for expedited service when filing corporate forms, with fees ranging from $1,000 for one hour review, to $50-$100 (depending on the type of document) for 24 hour review.
